I have moved here from the eastern part of the state. This freshwater lake fishing is getting the best of me. I have used downriggers at the beach, what is the advantage of using just down lines (1 oz. egg sinkers)? I know depth is a function of weight and line out but are there any thumb rules for the depth for one split shot, two split shots or other weights? How do you fish with the smaller weights?
