Posted by Omar Edwards Press Release (NCCATS) The North Carolina Catfish Association Tournament Series is announcing the start of their 2006 tournament trail season. The 2006 NCCATS Tournament Trail will hold their first tournament on the waters of Lake Norman January 14, 2006. Catfish anglers from around the state will be competing for cash prizes and a chance to advance to the Cabela’s King Kat Classic to be held October 13th and 14th on Pickwick/Wilson Lake in Sheffield, Alabama. NCCATS is affiliated with the Cabela's King Kat Tournament Trail and is a Qualifier for the Cabela's King Kat Classic. The 2006 NCCATS Tournament Trail is the opportunity for catfish anglers to advance to a new level with a 100% payback to places awarded and recognition for their abilities. The NCCATS Trail is a team event. Entry fees for thIs tournament is $80.00 per team. $10.00 of the entry fee will go towards the Big Fish Pot. Participants may enter at the registration to be held at the Pinnacle Wildlife Public Boat Access from 6:00 AM until 7:00 AM. Participants must be a paid dues member of NCCATS to compete in this tournament. NCCATS membership forms will be available at the tournament registration. NCCATS membership is $30.00 per person per year. Member and Spouse membership dues are $40.00 per year. NCCATS is a non-profit organization. Paid NCCATS member's children under 16 years of age are free. The places awarded depends on the number of teams entered. The tournament weigh-in will be held at 3:00 PM on January 14th at the Pinnacle Wildlife Public Boat Access. Tournament hours are 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM. All anglers must be in weigh-in line by 3:00 PM with a maximum of a 5 fish limit per team to be weighed in. To help preserve the sport, only live fish will be weighed in and all fish will be released after the tournament. After the weigh-in there will be random drawings for the teams entered for prizes from NCCATS and NCCATS National Sponsors. NCCATS will be giving away prizes such as a Betts cast net and a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500C3 reel at every NCCATS event. Only teams entered in that event are eligible for the prizes of the free random drawings. NCCATS Sponsors and National Sponsors: Minn-Kota Trolling Motors, Humminbird, Daiichi Bleeding Bait Circle Hooks, Blakemore Reel Magic, Hydro Glow Fish Lights and Olfatcat Drift Sinkers. The top 2 teams at each event will qualify for the Cabela’s King Kat Classic. If the top 2 teams have already qualified for the Cabela's King Kat Classic the next two eligilble teams will qualify for the Classic. Directions: From I-77 take exit 36 onto N.C. 150 west for 4.4 miles. Before crossing Lake Norman the access area entrance is on the right.
