STRENGTH OF WILL IS MINE features members of Squalbalkus and Displacement, we need to replace our departed vocalist asap... We're eager to get our current set gigged and start working on new material once we have a new singer settled. It's a hard position to fill as Martin's vocals were excellent and he was a menacing frontman for the band.
The music is extremely heavy and bluesy at the same time, a mixture of Stoner, Doom and Sludge with Classic Rock styles thrown in. There's a huge BLACK SABBATH influence but I would say that you can hear RAGING SPEEDHORN, IRON MONKEY, MOTORHEAD and even DEEP PURPLE in there. We had great feedback of those who attended our first and only gig and I can't wait to get gigging again in due course.
SOWIM is a 4-piece band including Colin (Displacement) on Bass, Danny (Squal) on Drums and Taz (Squal) on Guitar. We have full music and lyrics written for the 6 tunes in our set and much more that we're learining on the side. Taz has said that he doesn't mind any suitable vocalists singing their own lyrics if they don't like his.
Experience is not 100% needed but preferable, also if you have your own transport then it'll be a massive help. We live in Bolton, Westhoughton and Blackburn and so are currently rehearsing in Darwen as a compromise - we meet every Monday evening, 19.00 - 23.30. We will only consider reliable and committed vocalists.
