Need Advice- Kayak Carriers

I just bought my 1st rack system- good fit to car, but not completely happy with the CONTACT of the Mako Saddles to my boats hull. I was looking to replace them with Thule's 'set to go' on front and 'hydroglydes' at rear.
Anyone have these products and can give 'user' info that will help me make my decision before I spend more $$$ to still be dissatisfied?

Hi Linda,
I had a set of the hydroglides on the rear with an older model of the set to go up front. The front was ok but the hydroglides stunk. They tend to flatten out on the bottom of the boat and the boat wants to slide all over the place forcing me to have to over tighten the straps. I would probably go with a set of the set to go front and back if you want max hull contact (they are adjustable). You might want to put something soft on the bar in the back or use carpet so when sliding the boat up it doesn't scratch it. I use J bars myself but I am 6'2" and if you are shorter that can be a problem. Good luck and email me if you have further questions.

Excellent info... thank you! I've decided to give the Mako Saddles a run for the $$$.I now realize NO HOLDER IS GOING TO BE PERFECT for MY hull, space between the crossbars,and my ability to use the product. At 5'1 J carrier is out... Your suggestion to use 2 SET-TO-GO systems with a rug on the rear to load/unload sounds like the best advice... I didn't like the Hydroglydes either, someone let me try them... if the saddles don't work out that's exactly what I'm going to do! Thank you for your advice/suggestion!
