Subject: [paddling-33] WARNING about Quinnebaug River, Brimfield Lake, Lake Siog and connected waters
Hi everyone, To those of you venturing out on your own, I just wanted to pass along this information someone in the group sent me (thanks Steve!), it came from one of the leaders in AMC...
-The US Army Corps of Engineers has closed Lake Siog due to a
bloom of cyanobacteria. Contact with the water produces a
rash, swallowing produces diarrhea, vomiting, fever, etc. The bloom could also be in the Quinnebaug and even Brimfield Lake, plus all connected bodies of water...
Happy and safe paddling!
