Karen and I checked out the Nemasket River today. The water was high and flowing fast. The river was clear, no blow downs or obstructions up to the Rt. 44 Herring Run.
Below the Herring Run the water was too high to pass under the bridges
The Take Out will be the Rt. 44 Herring Run. Either above or for those low enough to fit under the bridge at the Herring Rub, below the run. The GPS coordinates for the TO are: N41 54.421 W70 54.806. This will make the paddle a 5 mile paddle. The best part of this long paddle.
The shuttle leaves promptly at 10:00 am. Allow time to unload your boat and gear before shuttling vehicles to the take out. 2 portages. Bring a lunch. We will stop at the first portage for lunch.
Directions: Take exit 4 off of RT 495. Follow Rt 105 south towards Lakeville for 0.8 miles. Take a left and turn onto Vaughan street (just before Starr's liquors) and follow straight for one mile to the put-in which is on the left. Vaughn Street put-in GPS coordinates are: N41 51.598 W070 55.018
Changes and cancellations to trips will be posted on the flatwater message board. Please check the board before leaving for any trip.
If interested please let me know.
