I just got back from scouting the river and I have good news. While the river is higher than normal the current is managable. At Pratt Dam water is too fast and rough but we will not go that far. From Mendon Road down to Valley Falls landing,it is flat but moving water. The down side to a paddle like this is people may get tired, we can decide anywhere during the paddle to turn around if this happens. The good part is the marsh is higher than usual which will allow us to explore the back parts if we wish, something that hasn't been done in a while. The put in and landing is a little high with some current but not dangerous. I feel as long as we pay attention and stay together we will be ok.
If the weather changes and we get more rain then we would either have to cancel or change locations. The only place coming to mind on short notice is slatersville resevoir but that is coming up on our schedule.
Any changes I will notify everyone. Mike B is going to post on the message board on tuesday since Christine and I do not have access to a computer during the day.
Pray for good weather,
Bob
