Paddles and Paddling: Version 2.0
with Werner Paddles' Danny Mongno
Wednesday, April 1st, 6-8pm
He's back! Werner Paddle's kayak instructor Danny Mongno will join us again for a paddle talk. If you attended Danny's talk last spring, join us for version 2.0--you won't want to miss it!
The sure fire way to guarantee more fun while paddling is to use less energy. The best two ways we know to get started on your quest is to assure you are using the proper fitting paddle and learn how to perform strokes more efficiently. In Paddles and Paddling-Version 2.0, Werner Paddle's kayak instructor Danny Mongno will expand on the information he shared with us during his 2008 seminar at The Kayak Centre. Starting with the paddle, he will review low angle and high angle paddling, paddle fit options and help prescribe the perfect fitting paddle for each individual.
From there we will dissect some of our every day strokes and see how, along with matching a better fitting paddle, we can perform these strokes using less energy and obtain better boat control. We'll take you beyond the basics of the key strokes used by all levels of paddlers in any type of kayak. This will be an interactive dry land instructional seminar, so whether you a sea kayaker, fisherman or quietly exploring the waters in your back yard, bring an open mind and get ready to have fun.
About Danny…
Werner Paddles is more than a career to Danny Mongno; it offers a lifestyle and a family. Traveling in his house on wheels and paddling most every day in the US and around the world has allowed him to add a constant flow of new thinking to over 19 years of experience. Coaching from event to event it is helping paddlers develop a love for the sport that keeps him coming back year in and year out. Danny is 35 years old and resides in the mountains of Asheville NC. Keep an eye out for him in your town on the running trail, white water take out, lake, local surf spot or any where else the paddlers gather. Bar stools not excluded.
The event is free and will be held in the main shop. No advance registration is required!
