Speaking at RICKA's October 20th monthly meeting:
Tamsin Venn will speak about 19 years of publishing Atlantic Coastal Kayaker Magazine. She will highlight some of the outstanding people who have appeared in the magazine and their adventures: Dick Wheeler’s trip to Newfoundland to trace the great auk’s migration. Tom Bergh’s voyage to Antarctica. Michel Morverand’s paddle across the sea to France. Tom Maihlot’s circumnavigation of Manhattan. Cheri Perry’s trip to the Greenland National Championships. And many more. She will also cover some of her favorite places to paddle with a stunning array of images in a slide show. She looks forward to hearing about some of RICKA’s members’ favorite paddling spots. Atlantic Coastal Kayaker is published eight times a year, from Ipswich, Mass. Venn is also author of two books, Sea Kayaking Along the New England Coast and MidAtlantic Coast, published by the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Monday, October 20th, 7:00 pm at the JCC, 401 Elmgrove Avenue, on the East Side of Providence.
