Last sunday we set out for a ride down the blackstone from plummers landing, Hopeing the bit of rain we had last week would help we tried after asking the ranger how the river was. The only hard part was the first 1/3 mile. Very low water caused us to line our kayaks perhaps 4 or 5 times, once past this part we only encountered one fallen tree that was an easy portage with good flow all the rest of the way down to Stanly woolen mills where we took out. The breached dam here had us looking forward to running it the whole trip. An excellent paddle and perfect weather. Hopeing for a bit more rain soon and was thinking of trying the pawcatuck river or lower wood river this weekend. Anyone been on these rivers lately?
