The trip to the Housatonic River is about 140 miles from most points in Rhode Island and takes about 2 1/2 hours. The trip on the river is about 10 miles and takes about 4 hours. It is easy flatwater with one short Dam portage (This Dam can also be run on right, but would be considered mild class II whitewater)
