The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council is bringing together a small group of people to travel the Woonasquatucket from the headwaters in North Smithfield to the head of Narragansett Bay in Providence over the course of 3 days, May 19 to May 21. WE WANT RICKA MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC TO BRING THEIR BOATS AND JOIN US FOR THE LAST LEG OF THE PADDLE in DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE on SUNDAY at 2PM. We would like to have additional paddlers join us at Donigian Park on Sunday afternoon at 2pm for the final leg to the bay. Paddlers on this section will need to provide their own canoe or kayak, as well as related gear such as paddles and lifejackets (required!). The first part of this section involves moving water and some sharp turns so participants should have experience paddling in moving water.
