My cousin seems to think the tureen I have from my mother's estate is a Flow Blue piece. There is a stamp on the bottom looks like semi-porcelain England Vermont is under the "seal" and there is a No for it in the lid as well as the bottom of the piece. I need help in finding out whether this would be worth an appraisal to know its actual value. I would appreciate any help or advice. (I know it's at least 60 years old.)It's in excellent condition. Burgess & Leigh Pottery made a "Vermont" pattern c 1895-1912, in a floral pattern,. It would be considered a Late Victorian pattern by FBICC's definitions. The design itself has roses, leaves and buds, and is pictured in Jeffery Snyder's "Flow Blue " book, and Petra William's "Flow Blue China" vol.1.A complete tureen set would probably have consisted of the tureen and lid, an undertray, and a ladle. You might want to talk to your insurance agent about listing it under a separate rider policy: insurance/replacement values and resale values are usually quite different. You might be able to get an idea of what tureens sell for on eBay or try Replacements.com to see if they have any listing for "Vermont" and what they are selling for. It might be worth anywhere from $100-500 depending on the condition, but that is a "best guess" estimate from what we have noticed on the current market.

Judy, I never received notification of your last response. Sorry for no reply. I am hoping to sell this tureen. I don't seem to do well on ebay. Any suggestions for a good place to sell this? Do members here commonly buy items?
