Looking for Platter Stand

Hi everyone...I have several large platters that I would like to make into small end tables or for use beside a chair. Can anyone recommend such a craftsperson?

Hi Judy, Not sure if you can find any Bidet Tables? we have them over here, you take the top off and under that is a china the bidet, we find them over here with out the bidet inserts and they are the right height for a side table, I have seen them made into platter tables often made of mahogany might be worth looking out for'

Hi Judy, You might try www.custommade.com. Put in your state or city and see what comes up. Right now I am designing a display cabinet for the kitchen with a custom furniture maker here in Indiana that I found through the site. Hopefully you'll meet someone who will find it intriguing to make a "platter table." Cindy

What an interesting idea.....I do not believe I have ever seen what you are talking about. However, next time I get to Lancaster Co,I think I will check with an importer to see if he can find me one. Thanks a million for your idea. PS How much do these things cost in the UK? Judy

Look for the real thing- butlers tray on stand And the price- much more then the platters.

Hi Dan Thanks for your comment, however, I am not sure I understand it.....do ou mean I should abandon the idea and just buy a butler's tray table since the cost to do this project would be exhorbitant? Please clarify for me. Judy

Judy , The price of an original butler's tray table stand could be $1500 . It is fantastic but very very expensive . Google the term and you will find prices and tables In UK

Hi Dan Just to clarify that we both are on the same page, I want to make a table from a large platter,(that would be the top)I was looking for someone to make a base or stand for it to fit into...I have a newer Butler's tray table, where the top comes off and it can be used as a tray. However, it is coffee table size and too big for what I want now. I wasn't sure what to call it, platter stand just came to mind.

Hi Judy if the bidet is missing and the top not too good they can be really cheap, as you don't need the top damage is OK if I get a chance I will photograph one I have - just never got around to putting the platter in it
