I have a large soup tureen with the Grindley mark on the bottom. The pattern is Atlas. I cannot find this pattern anywhere!!! I want to purchase the square platter for it to rest on. I, much to my horror, have broken the original.

Hello Marlane, if you are not a member of this Club you might like to think about joining us to help you find your Atlas Undertray for your Soup Tureen. Not all of our membership check this website, but all members receive a copy of our BlueBerry Notes (Club newspaper). The paper is distributed about 5 times per year. For a small price, a member can place a "Wanted" ad in the paper. By doing this, many more "flow blue" people would see your want and if they haven't got the piece they may know someone who has You must be a member to place the ad and the cost to be a member is $45 per year. Instructions for becoming a member are located on this website - see the homepage. If this is not successful, we do have an annual Convention in July where many pieces of flow and mulberry are sold and purchased. Good luck in your search - Take Care Jackie

I will also add (and you may know) that Grindley made undertrays that had a slight inside depression that the tureen sat in: some people used the actual platter (with no depression) as the undertray, so if you get any inquiries about an Atlas platter, you might want to verify if they actually have the platter OR the undertray.

Hi Marlane, we too collect one of Grindley's patterns - but not Atlas. We actually found our tureen under tray before we found the soup tureen and ladle. The correct under trays for the Grindley soups tureens are difficult to find. Actually, our tureen and under tray were found by different Club members who contacted us as they knew we were looking for one. Another member found us a chowder tureen to match our pattern. This is just one example of how helpful it is to have others looking with you. The ladies before me mentioned joining the Club to help find the under tray - this is a great idea. Jerry

Jerry, Your message is really helpful! I have not joined the group as I am only looking for one item. BUT, I have received such nice responses that I think that I WILL join. I might just become a flow blue collector!

Marlane: hope you DO join the club: you will not meet a friendlier group of people that are so eager to help you find what you are looking for. Alot of us consider our fellow members as lifelong friends that have a common love for flow blue. Welcome aboard! Judy
