I am trying desperately to Identify the huge bowl I have. It is flow Blue but it is more of a Flower Pot than a fruit bowl. It stands 11" tall, 13" wide. It has three handles around the top edge giving it a slight triangular shape. and the top of the bowl is deeply scalloped. the pattern is roses. It also has a dusting of gold. The mark on the bottom Is a swan with a draped ribbon. It reads... Trademark OXFORD T R & Co .T. Also on the bottom are The initals P.Y.O. hand written in Gold leaf, and a "P" hand carved. Is there an address where I can send you a photograph of the bowl? I would really like to know what it is. And where it came from. and any other details you might garnish. or is there a web sight I might use to help me? thank you so very much for your help. sincerely, Deborah Berry

Hi Deborah - the mark you describe is for T.Rathbone & Co. Newfield Pottery, Tunstall, Staffordshire Potteries and with the Swan would date from around 1912 - Oxford would be the pattern name - the marks in gold were often of the factory worker that did the gold embellishing - although sometimes the numbers were for the pattern - You have to be careful when purchasing items with this mark as it is one of many that the reproduction factories have hi-jacked to use on their items but the giveaway so far has been that no matter what the design of the items the pattern name is always Victor - and the Co. on the reproduction items looks very much like cox.- hope this helps - Jackie

Hi Debby - Maryilynn forwarded your pictures to me - your pot is a nice geniune piece of Rathbone pottery - the shape has been reproduced but not with the handles - I think the way you were using the jardiniere is great - it was made to be used and appreciated - so enjoy it - we are happy to help with any information we can but are not valuers so we do not give an opinion of the value of items - or course it has a value but not an earth shattering one so enjoy - Jackie
