Did you have a particular "red flag" about this piece or just interested in it?
From the photos, the blue looks good. The lid appears to have the crazing and decorator's number that are common on many pieces of flow blue. Without research into the pattern, it's not clear whether the circa date of 1880 is correct. Just taking a quick glance, I'd think it was a little later, but that's not conclusive. The handle and embossing look accurate for the period. The gold shows some wear around the edge of the lid, as you would expect, and the sponging is not unusual.
All in all, it looks like a nice three-piece soap dish. What were your thoughts?
