Hi Again!
I checked our club member roster to see if there were any dealers in the state of Washington, and there are none that belong to the club. The closest dealers are in California. There are 4 club members in WA, 1 in OR, and a couple in ID. I can contact them if you would like and let them know what you have. I would still encourage you to make a list of what you have, and put it on the message board, then take pictures of everything, and if any of our members are interested, you can email them photos, or they can contact you to send a photo of what you have. If you go to a dealer, I would say the "pay commission on sales" is the way to go. That way the dealer is going to try to get as much as possible out of the sale.
Without knowing totally what you have, I would think it would be doubtful to be able to sell the collection as a whole. Some members may be interested in buying all the pieces of one particular pattern: they may be trying to get a set of dishes for a child or grandchild, or for their own use. Again, this depends on what you actually have. Our convention is the end of this month: I can certainly pass on to other members attending that they should be looking on this website to check what you have listed. Just glancing through our member roster, I saw a couple members that collect Kyber, which I think you said you had some pieces of.
Please don't consider donating your collection to a museum. First, I don't know if one would take the collection, unless it was a Victorian themed museum (or historical society home). Second, I am being selfish in wanting your items available to people who really appreciate flow blue and can use the pieces in their collection!
I look forward to seeing the list of what you have when you get it ready, and I will do whatever I can to make sure club members are aware that you have these items for sell. The newsletter that we get as members has a "wanted" section: if someone is looking for a piece that you may have, I will let them know to contact you.
Please keep in touch!
Judy
