Hi Judy,
Could you send a photo of the platter to my e-mail address? It is almost impossible to give any kind of accurate information without it except the possible circa when it was made. You could probably find the mark if you google the Royal Staffordshire Pottery. You can also e-mail a photo to me..let me know and I will send you my address.
