Hello Bill,
Sorry for the delay, we have been out for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our Tureen has chips that would need to be repaired as well as one handle that was broken off at one time and reglued. Having said that however, overall, the piece is presentable as is. There is hardly any loss to the finish at all. Where there is a chip, it was always glued back on mostly in its entirety with just a hairline around the edge. Total there are four chipped areas. Three are on the lid. On either side of the ladle hole there is a small chip; one has not been recolored and is about one eigth of an inch by one eigth of an inch. If it had coloring in it, it would be difficult to notice. The other one has been filled with color and is on the very edge of the lid on the top near the opening of the ladle hole. It is about twice as big as the one previously mentioned. It does not stand out looking at it now and could be displayed as is. If repaired, it is in a solid cobalt blue area and so would not require any artwork. (the other small chip is also in a non artwork area; white)The third chip is at the opposite end of the lid on the top edge. Like the first two chips,it does not go through to the other side but is more of a flake. This one is close to but not quite about one half inch in diameter. Since it was recovered and reglued in its entirety, the only repair would be coloring and reglazing the slight white hairline around the outer edge of the chip. Again, It is presentable as is. The last chip is located on the outer top lip dead center of one broadside of the tureen body. It is a flake like the others and has been reglued almost in its entirety. Since it is fatter on one end and tapered down to a point on the other end, the pointy end has lost a small flake in a white area. The total chip is close to three quarters of an inch long. Again, a minor repair and presentable as is. There is a small factory blemish on the other side of the tureen in the same spot that does not take away from the piece. The broken handle was glued back on very well and has hairlines to show for it except for one small loss in a crack at the bottom of the handle. Again the whole piece is presentable as is. The undertray is in mint condition with the usual very light wear on the flat surface from the movements of the tureen over time. Please email me with questions or for pictures.Thank you for your interest. bj332000@yahoo.com Because this tureen has a mint undertray with it, we are asking $4000. Also, this price is our low price. Thank you
