The mark that you describe is put on items that are mainly made and imported from China or Asia - none of the reproduction items (new) are made in Staffordshire UK - the pieces are still being made today - so your piece can be anything from a couple of years old to brand new it is hard to say - the good news is that you like it and you have paid probably around the correct price for a new item - not sure about the purpose of the item though - Jackie
