I need a home for an older, Appy mare ASAP. I got this horse as part of a group of horses given to me in Nov. 07. I cannot keep the horse because I run a riding program for kids and do not have the extra time to deal with her special needs. She is blind in one eye, arthritic, thin, has only a few teeth, and doesn't deal well with a busy barn and a lot of people. She gets along with other horses, and she adapts quickly to a routine. She has put on some weight as I moved her into my new training facility where there was nice grazing to be had. She does not eat hay much, but does eat hay replacer pellets, senior feed, beet pulp, and everything softened. Her feet are in good condition, and I am about to de worm her again. I have not had my vet do shots on her yet as I needed to fit her into the schedule.
My fiancee does not want me to keep this horse because of all the complications, and I totally agree. This horse needs special care and lots of time and attention. If you are interested please contact me (Hosanna Pennell) at 336-234-8383 OR 434-728-5115. I am located in Milton NC near Danville, VA and Roxboro, NC.
