Here I am in South Dakota working with my heart on what matters most to me. I have decided to volunteer for the International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros, as it is the only one of its kind where stallions, mares, and foals can be observed in their wild state, forming healthy bands and herds. We currently have over 300 horses under our direct protection here on the Cheyenne River Reservation.
I wish for you to consider sponsoring a horse or making a donation, as times are dire. Hay prices have tripled this year. This year’s drought has been the worse since records started being kept in the early 1900s. South Dakota has been declared a national emergency due to the fact it has only received 3 and 1/8 inch of precipitation this year. However, ISPMB will not receive any relief assistance because it does not use its animals as food. We were just inexplicably declined a 30,000 grant from the HHUS. We will run out of hay within 3 weeks if we fail to raise at least $100,000 by that time.
Our efforts are being rewarded as the House of Representatives passed bill 503 stipulating the end of horse slaughter in the US. Over 90,000 were still being inhumanly killed and shipped over seas each year. ISPMB played an instrumental part in the success of this legislation. May it be confirmed by the senate!

Therefore, the forwarding of this information to as many people as possible as well as any networking suggestions would be most appreciated. I know support for this organization would be increased exponentially were peoples' awareness of it broadened.
Of course, any amount would be of great benefit to us in these times. For more detailed information please visit our website http://www.ispmb.org/index.shtml or contact us.
Please send any support to our presedent:
