PMU Horses Need Help!!

There are 92 PMU horses
(mostly mares and foals) that were recently
discovered in a back lot and purchased by a
rancher/horse dealer. If they are not sold by
September 4th they will go to slaughter. If you
could help in any way, please contact Melodie at
raines70@telus.net or phone her at home, her number
is 250-573-2463. The man who has them can trailer
them if needed and is willing to do Coggins/Health
Cert. for cross border purchases. Prices are in
Canadian dollars and are just above meat price
basically. He has priced them at: Babies: 350-400$
Yearlings-2 yr olds: 500-550 mares: priced according
to size (scale on site).
I am so desparate to help these horses that I will
buy one for someone if they would be able to give
the horse a permanent, loving home.

The phone number for the owner of the horses, Ken, is 780-203-2122. The horses are located in Gibbons, Alberta.
Update as of Sept 4th
Ken is very willing to hold onto the horses as long as people are interested in them. He's had them since spring and another group that was placing them since then only found homes for 3, but thanks to everyone getting the word out over the last couple of weeks, he placed half the horses in the last 2 days! So now he is more than happy to hang onto what he's got as long as people are still interested.

ps he is perfectly fine with people calling him directly. The only problem now is I'm not sure exactly which horses are still there. We took 6, a BC rescue took 29. They're all lovely though!
