Now that I have your attention....I am looking to place this horse in an approved, safe home where he will be loved for the rest of his life. He is a 9 yr old, 16 hh dk bay gelding with a stripe and socks. He has been ridden english by riders as young as 8 years old. He is a big love, very sweet, quiet and gentle. He was used in a lesson program for 2 years and then sold to a student who has used him as a backyard horse for 3 years. Now the girl is off to college and can't keep him anymore. He is back at my place to find a new home. When he was in the lesson program, he was jumping 3' courses and showing in 4-H and open shows. He trailers, ties, bathes, clips, no vice at all, very safe and trustworthy, also good on the trail. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, here is the clincher. This horse is going blind. He has uveitis, a progressive disease which cannot be cured. It can be treated to slow the disease, but he has lost most of the vision in his right eye already. It does not seem to effect him at all. He does not spook, he is calm and confident to ride. His jumping days are over, but he is still a good riding and trail horse who really needs someone who will love and are for him in spite of his condition. He is an easy keeper and gets along well with other horses. If you are interested in seeing him, please write for more info.
