Hello Friends:
This is my last ezine before the festival. My, how time flies! In nine more days things will be well under way! I hope to see you there!
DIG DEEPER INTO COUNTRY MUSIC!
What is this “country music festival” thing all about anyway? Whether you’re a novice or a fan, if you dig country music, this is your chance to dig deeper. Festivals can serve as a vacation of sorts. They’re a relatively affordable getaway. With high ticket prices at large concerts, the lure of an affordable festival, if you’re within driving distance, offers a huge appeal. You can participate in a live event, enabling you to have a memorable experience. Come vacation with us and enjoy the “festival lifestyle”.
The festival continues to grow in numbers, so over the past year I’ve worked harder than ever to bring you four fun filled days of country music. When you arrive, flip through the program and check out the bios of the participating “Bands”. They’re quite impressive. These musicians love what they do. You will hear and see the ABCS, Bowes Brothers-Ont., Country Harmony, Don Haggart with Wayne Petire, Joyce Seamone & Total Country, Mark Cameron, Montana, Rik Reese & Neon Highway-NB., Roadhouse, Southwind, Triple Time, and the Keepers. Also, Total Country is proud to back Dan Mason, Melinda Naugler, Michelle Colp, Josh Macumber, and Jordin Wentzel.
We offer Bingo on Thursday and Friday and of course our always popular Open Mike on opening night. There is a great field canteen with new additions to the menu this year.
One of the greatest assets to the festival is the sponsors. Check out the website at www.foxmountaincampingpark.com/countrymusic and follow the sponsor’s link. If you are in their areas please do us a favor and patronize all of them, buy their products and utilize what they have to offer. They are as much a part of this festival as the entertainers and the audience, and we appreciate each and every one of them. It would be a lot more difficult to do the festival if it wasn’t for them.
Many of you folks who called the camping park would hear Gilbert Jordan’s familiar voice for the first five years of the festival. With Gilbert’s leaving, there have been many changes. Heidi and I are your new contacts and we appreciate all the patience you have shown us during this transition. Oh, yes, and by the way, I think Gilbert will be vacationing in our area during festival time and we just might see him.
On a closing note, this festival is growing in leaps and bounds and, as always, we are working hard to make it better. For those attending this festival, if you plan on coming back next year, it is advised that you rebook your site with Heidi at the gatehouse sometime during the weekend, or by your deadline of Nov. 1, 2009. To quote a friend’s song, “GET ‘ER DONE”!!!!! Once your site is re-booked, you must pay for it by July 1, 2010 or it will become available to someone else. GET ‘ER DONE! We have many people just waiting in the wings for a site. We have been a bit loose this year because of the transition from the old system to the new system but because of increased attendance, and so many more calls to deal with, and so many more people wanting sites, we will be keeping a tighter reign on things. If some of your friends don’t have the internet, please pass this information on to them.
Until next time, my personal thought for today is: We don’t’ know what we’ve got until we lose it, but we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives.
Please feel free to forward this to your own email list.
