ANN PASCOE NEWSLETTER
April 2009
Editor: Bob (Napier) bdyer@clear.net.nz
March has gone! And the year is rolling on. In this business you start to work in the year ahead as well, so it can all get a bit confusing! Best to keep that diary at hand!
Ann has been quite busy with her music. As she says, it "comes and goes" with gigs within a few days/weeks, then there is a lull for a time.
Though more Rest Homes are inviting her to entertain the residents. They love those songs from the 50s and 60s - and of course, there is a lot of country music songs they know from the times when country was cool on radio!
And there is always country music clubs to go along to, socialise and sing at.
It's probably relevant to note that country music clubs first started some 50 years ago, this year. Started by that New Zealand country music great, Rusty Greaves. Rusty obviously saw the need for amatuer country music people who wanted to have a sing along with a resident band, to have somewhere to try their musical prowess.

Back on Waitangi Day, Dennis Marsh was performing at the Festival of the Lights in New Plymouth. He and his band had a huge crowd there! And the weather was perfect - again!
Ann was highly delighted when Den made mention of her, and invited her to the stage to sing. She instructed the band, and they launched into "Walking After Midnight" as if they had been together for years! It was obvious that the home crowd really enjoyed Ann on stage!

A Certificate of Distinction was awarded to Ann for overseas airplay. She was "Artist of the Month" for February 'for massive airplay...' - the certificate given to her from Nashville Gateway International.

RhonBob Promotions is happy to announce that New Zealand's beautiful lady ANN PASCOE is joining RhonBob Promotions family of top artists, musicians and groups. .
Ann is a very special lady with a voice and style that is loved around the world.
Ann sings from her heart, and the DJ's hear it, and feel her true love of putting a song across in a very special way. Different DJ's have told me that they feel ANN is one of the most talented artists around , and has the quality of staying humble, approachable, and truly thankful for the airplay.
We welcome comments from DJ's to add to ANN PASCOE'S MAJOR PRESS RELEASE that will be out very soon...as both Ann and I are truly very excited about working together.

A few years ago, Dennis Marsh and Ann were invited to perform at the Hamilton Gardens Summer Festival. They were the first country music artists to be on the shows. When Dennis's turn came round again, he invited Ann to share the stage in the gardens.
Sunday March 1st saw over 200 people seated on a hot summer's day, in the Perfume Gardens listening to Dennis and Ann, with the Dennis Marsh Show Band.

Back in Hamilton again on Friday night, 27th March, this time Ann performed with her OLDOGS band of Mark Corbett (on bass), Noddy Curd (on drums), Kevin Joyce (lead guitar) and Charlie Winter on keyboard.
They wowed the keen dancers present at the Hamilton Working Man's Club. The compliments flew - the dancers danced up a storm - and Ann and the band were more than satisfied with their performance of pop and country songs that had the crowd singing along as well!
A tentative inquiry may see the band performing at a Hamilton 70th birthday, next year!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that the Hamilton gig is over, it is time to concentrate on the next show, which is with Roger Tibbs in New Plymouth on Saturday April 25th, at the New Plymouth Club, 55 Gill Street. $15 each. Roger and Ann, and OLDOGS perform and it should be a really good show!

May gets busy! Ann goes down to Wellington, thanks to Gail Russell returning favours - where she has arranged two shows for Ann to be on with Dennis Morgan from Australia, and Gail and Peato. Titahi Bay Bowling Club on Saturday 2nd May, 7.30pm and Upper Hutt Cossie Club on 3rd May at 2pm. With Johnny Cash Tribute artist from Europe, Peter Caulton.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then of course there is the Bay of Islands 20th Country Rock festival, where Ann and OLDOGS have been accepted to perform. 8th,9th,10th May.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Among the various Rest Homes and meetings/birthdays entertainment Ann is asked to do, is a visit to the Cambridge Club on the 11th July.
And also a television presentation. That has to be worked out yet, for a suitable date and time. So it's all go!
The only way to go, really...Long may it continue!
Remember, if you'd like Ann to visit your club as a guest artist or sing at something you have arranged, then contact her at annpascoe@orcon.net.nz and I'm sure you will be able to arrange something with her!
