A muzzle works and doesn't harm the dog. Smokey is an austrailian cattle dog and barked at everything. All you have to do is pick up the muzzle and she quits whatever she is doing. I do put her out in the front when I'm waiting for mail or the UPS/FedX drivers. And she still barks at my husbands atv but she is not destructive any more. Good luck
