For several years after the BMR series ended, Barbie Collectibles continued to offer nicely boxed fashions as part of their yearly membership kits. Members would sign up each year (not free, there was a fee sent in), and a kit would come in the mail with the separately boxed fashion on one side and other smaller items, such as pins and membership cards, on the other side.
Barbie Collector's Club exclusive, Executive Lunch, box date 1998, stock #22306- A smart business suit accessorized by a jaunty scarf and large tote bag. A pearl necklace and bracelet were also included, as well as black pantyhose (not shown). The earrings are the doll's own.
Underneath the suit jacket there is a nice white bodysuit.
Barbie Collector's Club exclusive, Suits Me Fine, box date 1999, stock #26069- A lovely little suit with several nice pops of color. The red purse is real velvet. My only complaint is that the coat has no closures.
Remove the coat and Barbie is ready for the boardroom.
Barbie Collector's Club exclusive, Spotted on the Scene, box date 2000, stock #28797- A wonderful throwback to the mod 60's/70's. Since it's in a neutral color scheme, the basic pieces are great for re-dressing. The really cool thing about this fashion is that while it looks like a sweater coat, it is actually a long vest with the mock turtleneck underneath done in the same fabric!
