Both of today's fashions were sold separately with no doll, but the first one was exclusive to the Barbie Collector's Club while the second one was available in stores.1997 BMR Collection, Gallery Opening, stock #18893- A lovely tweed coat paired with a sky blue dress. The necklace and earrings are the doll's own but the BMR charm bracelet did come with the fashion.
The dress is made of a really nice flowing fabric. In fact, most of the fabrics used in the BMR series are noticeably nicer than those used in the playline fashions offered around the same time period.
The coat has a BMR label sewn inside and here's a close-up of the BMR dangle on the bracelet:
The set also included a few paper items, specifically a piece of abstract art and an invitation.
1997 BMR Collection, Green Thumb, stock #19433- Barbie is truly ready for a day in the garden in this fun set with lots of gardening accessories.
The shirt has a garden-themed print:
A close-up of all the gardening implements. I love how they used a similar shoe mold from the wooden clogs for the Barbie in Holland vintage outfit as gardening clogs for this fashion. There were also some paper seed packets included.
Next week we'll look at another fashion and a final gift set.
