Lukas (restlessly): "What do you think the girls are doing?"
Simon: "Dunno, but I certainly wasn't planning on spending my evening with three other blokes--one of which is being quite unpleasant."
Danny: "Suck it."
Simon: "Charming. Why is he here again, Luke?"
Lukas: "He called and wanted to hang out, and since I've been evicted from my apartment for the evening, we came here."
Simon: "I expect he didn't want to hang so much as his band mates got right tired of him and told him to sod off."
Danny: "Bite me."
Lukas: *sighs* "I should be at home in bed with my incredibly gorgeous wife--naked and happy."
Simon (morosely): "Yeah."
Danny: "Shut. Up."
Z: "Seriously."
Lukas (surprised): "Et tu, Z?"
Simon: "He's been a surly bugger all week."
Z: "Kumi won't let me leave! I'm nearly healed, but she keeps insisting I can't--"
Simon (firmly): "You'll stay as long as she wants, mate, and you'll do it with a smile."
Z: *ignores Simon* "Plus, Em and I were supposed to have dinner tonight."
Danny: "I didn't know you and Emma were together, Z."
Z: "Workin' on it."
Lukas: "No. You're not."
Z (viciously): "Yes, I am, so you can both just shut the hell up about it."
Lukas: *smiles* "Damn, he is surly."
Simon: "Why are you so happy about it?"
Lukas: "He's not getting laid. If he was, he wouldn't be nearly this disagreeable."
Simon: *chuckles*
Danny (lazily): "Emma's not gonna be puttin' out for Z or anyone else, so you two can stop your worryin'."
Simon: "How do you know?"
Danny: *shrugs* "I know girls. Some put out, some don't. Emma's a don't. She's still a little piece of lovely, though."
Z (curtly): "My little piece of lovely. Keep your manicured meat paws off her, Rock Casanova."
Danny: "No worries. I lean more towards petite blondes with big, green eyes and very sharp teeth. So, you like Emma a lot, huh?"
Z: "Yeah, *soft smile* she's exceptional."
Danny: "Well, then don't wait around until it's too late. She'll end up engaged to your brother or a pussbucket with a stick up his ass."
Lukas: "Dan."
Danny: "Don't want to talk about it, Luke. *softens tone* Later, okay?"
Lukas: *nods unhappily*
**Few Moments of Silence**
Lukas: "Screw this. I'm goin' home. Coming?"
Simon: "I'm in."
Z: "We're crashing a slumber party?! Cripes, if I'm dreaming, don't wake me up. Please let there be naked pillow fights."
Danny (roguishly): "Deeear Penthouse..."
Meanwhile...
Candy: "I can't eat any more ice cream; I'll hurl."
Kumi: *snorts* "Amateur. Give it to me and I'll finish it off for you."
Emma: *licks fingers* "Candy, why did you agree tae marry Jonathan if you didna love him?"
Candy: "'Cause I'm a freakin' moron."
Yuri: "Candy, I think that is a bit harsh."
Candy: "Oh, puh-leeze. You're just being nice to me because you know about my childhood and feel sorry for me. I hate it when people pity me. Pisses me off to no end."
Kumi: "Hey, no pity here. We don't pity, we don't judge. Right, Ri-Ri?"
Yuri: "Actually, judging people is one of my favorite pass times, along with shopping, baking, and fornicating with Lukas."
**Stunned Silence**
Yuri (innocently): "What did I say?"
Everyone: *peals of laughter and hooting*
Emma: "So, you really love Danny, then?"
Candy: "Who told you that?"
Emma: *cuts eyes to Yuri and Kumi*
Candy: "Super. I'm getting really tired of people telling me how I feel."
Kumi: "Midge, you need someone to tell you how you feel 'cuz you don't know yourself. Besides, have you seen Danny? He's delish."
Candy: "All the men that hang around here are delish, Kumi. If I go by your logic, I'd be in love with them all."
Yuri: "I believe we have already been down that treacherous road, Candy. You do not love Lukas in the romantic sense."
Kumi: "Simon's mine. Touch him and die."
Emma: "Z's off limits, too."
Yuri & Kumi: *smug smiles*
Yuri: "Is he truly?"
Kumi: "Staking your claim on the Z-ster, Mouse? 'Bout damn time."
Emma: "We're no' together-together or anythin'. I juice like him. He's nice."
Yuri: "Yes, Z is extremely nice. He has a fine form, too. Has he been pressuring you to engage in activities that you find objectionable?"
Emma: "Huh?"
Kumi: "Has be been trying to talk you into doing the naked bump and grind?"
Candy: *snickers* "Eloquence, thy name is Kumi."
Emma: "No' really. Even though he's always talkin' about sex, Z never makes me feel uncomfortable--more like exasperated."
Yuri: *nods* "I would have expected nothing less of him. He may be a bit incorrigible, but he would never coerce a girl into anything untoward."
Kumi: "He's never had to. The girls are usually propositioning him."
Emma: *narrows eyes* "Aye. The cows."
Yuri: "What are you going to do about Daniel, Candy? You will not be able to hide the truth about your broken engagement for long."
Candy: *moans* "I know, but I'm scared. Danny's so...intense."
Kumi: *clucks like a chicken*
Candy: *filthy look*
Yuri: "I think that clucking is a bit rich coming from you, Mi-Mi. You ran from Simon as fast as your abnormally long legs could carry you."
Emma & Candy (gleefully): "Really?"
Kumi: "No! I was just playing hard to get is all."
Yuri: *disbelieving snort*
Emma: "How do you ken when ye're in love anyway?"
Yuri: "It is different for everyone, baby. Sometimes it is a hard, fast fall and sometimes it is a slow, leisurely slide. Then, there are those who fight it passionately, but they ultimately acquiesce to it in the end."
Candy: "Was that last one directed at me because I'm not acquiescing to anything?!"
Yuri: *smirks*
Emma: "How was it for you and Kumi, then?"
Yuri: "Love at first sight for me. I saw Lukas across a crowded party, and it was like a frisson of awareness down my spine. I simply knew."
Kumi: "I didn't even see Simon comin'. The bastard snuck up on me from behind."
Candy: "Kiiinky."
Everyone: *laughs hysterically*
--Knock on Door--
Kumi: "I'll get it! It's probably the stripper I ordered."
Candy: "She's kidding, right?"
Yuri (wryly): "With Kumi, most likely not."
Emma: "But I donna have any money tae stick in his trousers."
Yuri (appalled): "How do you know about that unseemly practice?!"
Emma: *rolls eyes* "I watch the telly and read, donna I?"
Kumi: "We're being invaded!"
Yuri: "Lukas! What are you doing back?"
Lukas: "Missed you, babe."
Simon: "We're gate crashing, pet."
Kumi: "But, it's ovary night. You can't just--what's in the bag, puddin'?"
Simon: *sly grin* "Ice cream. Loads of it."
Kumi: "Oh! Well, that's different. We'll make a bean bag exception, but only this once. Gimme!"
Emma: "We were about tae watch another movie before you arrived."
Z: *tugs on Emma's curl* "Yeah, can I stay and watch, too?"
Emma (shyly): "Aye."
Simon: "We're all staying. Budge up and make room girls."
Danny: "Sprout..."
Candy (wearily): "Not tonight, Danny, okay?"
Danny: *searching look* "Okay. Sit with me?"
Candy: "Yes."
Danny: *pulls Candy onto lap* "We have to talk eventually, though."
Candy: "Yes."
Simon: "So, what are we watching?"
Yuri: "Sense and Sensibility."
Lukas, Simon, & Z: *groans*
Danny: "What? No Pride and Prejudice?"
Yuri: "You missed it Daniel. We viewed it first."
Danny: "Damn."
Z (disbelievingly): "You like Austen?"
Simon: "He's just brownnosing for the girls."
Candy: "No, he's not. He loves Austen; he read all her books to me when we were younger."
Danny: *whispers* "'If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more.'"
Yuri, Kumi, & Emma: *gasps of delight*
Candy: *sniffles* "Oh, you're going to make me cry again, Danny, and I just dried up."
Danny: *tilts Candy's face up* "What do you mean? Why have you been crying?"
**Loaded Silence**
Yuri, Kumi, & Emma: *exchange glances*
Yuri: *pokes Lukas* "Was that not beautiful, darling?"
Lukas: *grunts* "Huh?"
Emma: "Danny was quoting from the novel Emma."
Kumi: "He quotes Austen, he's ripped like an Adonis, and he smirks like Spike from Buffy! He's the Holy Grail of hotness, girls!"
Simon: *scowls*
Kumi (quickly): "But, he still doesn't compare to you, puddin'."
Emma (teasingly): "Aye, he's right canny. I take it back what I said earlier, Candy. You can have Z after all. I'll take Danny."
Z (outraged): "Hey!"
Simon: *cracks knuckles* "I hate your brother, mate. The girls are going to start throwing their knickers at him next."
Lukas (disgustedly): "Don't look at me! I didn't birth him; I just share genes with him."
Danny: *flips the bird*
Yuri: "Daniel!"
Danny: *grins* "Just tryin' to respect your no F-word rule, Yuri."
Lukas: *laughs* "Oh, yeah! Now that's the Dan I know and love."
