FEATURED MODERATOR: Meet DeeinNJ - PART 1 Posted by DeeinNJ on March 17, 2008, 1:45 pm Administrator Dee Hi, all. My thanks to Doll Divas for allowing me to share a bit about myself today. To begin with, I’m not a moderator in the traditional sense. I just put on my “mod” hat every other Tuesday to facilitate our Diorama Discussions, which I’ve been hosting since 2005. I appreciate that Doll Divas considers me part of the family. Many of you already know something about my doll collecting and may remember a bit of what follows from my “Featured Fan” appearance several years ago, so I am going to start off with a bit about the “undiscovered Dee,” and then I’ll touch on dolls a little bit. Hope you can stick with me… As my screen ID implies, I live in New Jersey with my hubby Dennis and our three-year-old daughter Dana. Here I am. This photo is from when Dana was just a baby, but I look pretty much the same. If I would get in FRONT of the camera once in a while, I MIGHT be able to find an updated photo! Here I am with my hubby in a couple of pictures where I am sporting a veil. Quite a difference between them, eh? Both the hubby and I enjoy Halloween parties, so this was from a few years ago. Here is my Daughter Dana. She is always so happy and IS my favorite doll! I love reading Dr Seuss to my daughter ‘cause those books are so colorful and quirky (kind of like me). Before becoming a mom, I was very much into home decorating and buying stuff for the house. Now, I love buying cool IKEA storage containers to cleverly conceal all of my daughter’s toys. I prefer very simple, modern, uncluttered home décor and my home is a colorful, casual and happy place. Pics of my house (Confession: it is not ALWAYS this neat) At home, I feel grounded and loved. I am content just hanging out at home with my family and watching The Forensic Files and other crime shows on TruTV . I love to read true crime books, especially by author Anne Rule. I am a James Bond junkie, so I occasionally read the old Ian Flemming books and am just giddy when there’s a James Bond movie marathon on TV (despite the fact that I have every movie on video or DVD). I love Sean Connery best, but the new Bond, Daniel Craig, is very good, so I’m thrilled to see him in all the new 007 capers. I am a bit nostalgic and like old movies and a slower pace to life, but I appreciate all types of movies. Some of my favorite movies are Sleuth, Chicago, Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and many of the classics. I am also a sports fan and root for Philadelphia teams (which can be a bit frustrating since there is no living being that can remember the last time any Philly team won a championship – OK, maybe I exaggerate… but only a little).
