I would like to begin this post by saying that, first and foremost, I am a true blue Tejano fan! I also agree with the banning of the Tejano Rodeo for not having any "Tejano" bands at the main stages. But somethng has really irritated me over the last couple of weeks. I have not had good luck in getting airplay for Ms. Jennifer Marie on her home town's only Puro Tejano Station - 980am. The first reason Eric O. gave me was that he did not have "permission from San Antonio" to play her CD. I thought he was the P.D. for the station here. Now it is because no one calls in and asks for it. First of all, how can someone ask for her, if they don't hear her music on the radio? Isn't that what radio play supposed to do? It was meant for the people to decide what is played and what artist they did want to hear. People are playing Jennifer Marie's music all over the US and some parts of Mexico, yet they can't play her music in her own home town? That is really a shame ERIC! I have nothing against you, per say, but new artists need that airplay as much as anyone else. But I don't know what you have against Jennifer Marie or other up and coming artists either. If he wants people to call in, then everyone should call in demanding that their favoite artist(s) get airplay. Then we will see what the 'excuse' will be then. The number to the Puro Tejano Station - 980am is 713.621.0980 and tell them to play them during the rush hour time, not at 12am! We need to be specific with Eric O.
