When I was 13 I too already knew that they're messing up this one-and-only planet.
I say "they're", because I've always stepped softly on the/this world.
What I didn't know then and for almost another half century, is that such devastating destruction is inevitable, inherent to a/our mad money system which creates/prints money out of nothing, but demands that interest -compounding interest- has to be paid in a crazy cycle of increasing unrepayable debt.
Driven to overproduction, driven to overconsumption and driving us to destroy the earth.
I'm so sad & mad that words fail me.
