Edwards must have a low estimation of the intelligence of his readers if he thinks they will confuse two separate claims, namely:
1. Percentage of violent deaths "not reported by the press".
2. Percentage of violent deaths "not recorded by IBC".
The Medialens trashing of IBC in question is: In fact there is no longer any excuse for this innocent reliance on Iraq Body Count (IBC). A review of Iraq deaths reported by four major US newspapers found that IBC missed more than one of every ten deaths reported by the news media. A separate study soon to be published by Columbia University found that the majority of violent deaths in a phone sample from Baghdad were not recorded by IBC.
This is incorrect. The study did not find "that the majority of violent deaths in a phone sample from Baghdad were not recorded by IBC". (It found that IBC may've recorded 62% of the deaths). See: http://dissident93.wordpress.com/2009/09/21/les-roberts-new-study/
