If you view worth in that way, you should apply the same criteria to other studies (Lancet, ORB, etc) - you won't know their worth until their results are validated against confirmed total deaths. (Lancet 2006 and IFHS disagree by 450,000 violent deaths, btw - no reliable tally to be found there). You could even apply the reductio treatment and argue that there's no point counting deaths until after the war is finished, because until then you'll get a "worthless" incomplete count by definition.
