Agree completely about Heat, I've watched it more times than I can remember and it gets better with age, flawless performances from everone concerned. Michael Mann is one of my favourite directors. I loved The Informant too. Even Miami Vice, which was flawed, has some great moments. I saw a trailer for the new one when I went to see the awful 'State of Play' last week (Benn Affleck was muck in it) and I've been licking my chops since...whats going on with Johnny Depp? Isn't he or wasn' he suposed to be some kind of drug fiend? Isn't it ever going to catch up on him? He never seems to age.
As for Val Kilmer in Heat...superb, its all in the eyes..he really seems on the edge all the time. My favourite Kilmer film was The Salton Sea with a drug dealing cameo from Vincent D'Onofrio which chills to the bone, maybe the most unhinged movie villian of all time.
