hello Alex,to be honest mate you should change it anyway even if you use the bike daily,as the original cct was a load of rubbish.they normally change them for the zzr1100 one,but if you do cut off 10mm off the spring as the zzr one has a stronger spring and this will wear the guide wheel down faster than normal...regards Phill
