Great site this, I was going to post my 84 ZG runs rich and what should i do to remedy the situation. I still will check Plugs, Air filter,
and possibly the condition of the coils as it does get hot under there.
Which are the best plugs for a DFI z13

: Hi Karlos, I've got similar mods on my ZG
: (exhaust, K&N filter), I marked the
: original position of the TPS, adjusted it
: either way & found it ran best in the
: original position. I also had the injectors
: ultrasonically cleaned, fitted an adjustable
: fuel pressure regulator valve, played around
: with fuel pressures, checked all the sensors
: (all within spec) & it still runs rich.
: I've found that if you try & lean-off
: the mixture it won't run that well. So I'd
: say leave everything on the injection as
: standard as it'll still be OK, but I think
: all ZGs & Voyagers run rich because fuel
: formulation is now different from when these
: were made. If anyone overcomes theirs
: running rich let me know

: I'm setting my ZG with none standard
: configuraion, (aftermarket exhaust & K+N
: air cone filters). When adjusting the TP to
: set the correct mixture, do you 1, measure
: the output meter readings or 2, connect a
: colour tune and adjust by turning the TP to
: get the correct blue spark. Any tips, phone
: calls will be a help, thank you. Karlos
