ZG throttle Position Advice

I'm setting my ZG with none standard configuraion, (aftermarket exhaust & K+N air cone filters). When adjusting the TP to set the correct mixture, do you 1, measure the output meter readings or 2, connect a colour tune and adjust by turning the TP to get the correct blue spark. Any tips, phone calls will be a help, thank you. Karlos
