: According to the manual you fill it through
: the rad cap, top up the expansion tank,
: remove the fan fuse, and run it with both
: caps off until the guage is into the red
: (resulting in boiling fluid spitting out of
: both orifices). Switch off, replace fuse,
: start it again to bring temperature down.
: Switch off and top up fluids. I did it this
: way and still had to top up a couple of
: times after riding.
: Pete's method may be less dramatic and
: exciting, but I reckon that it's safer and
: probably less stressful on the engine. I've
: lived to tell the tale unscathed after doing
: it to the manual twice, and that's enough,
: so I think I'll switch to Pete's method for
: the future.

: Make a 50/50 mix water and coolant.
: Fill radiator slowly to release as much air
: as possible (you will hear it
: "burping" as you fill it.
: Add mix to overflow bottle (to half way).
: Leave rad cap off and start engine with bike
: on the CENTRE STAND.
: Let engine get upto full running temp (fan
: cuts in). This will ensure 99% of air is out
: of the system. Top up accordingly.
: Carefully replace rad cap and run bike
: checking overflow bottle level over the next
: 100 miles.

: Any special tips on swapping out the old
: radiator fluid? I recieved my new hoses
: today and figure I'll get to it in the next
: few weeks I hope. I've looked at the manual
: and it looks to be a pain in the butt with
: the overflow tank being down low and doing
: everything thru it versus just filling thru
: the radiator cap like usual. Any thoughts or
: ideas appreciated, thanks
