This is all true !!!!
I have had them all, including CBX's which to ride are a nice bike, but a "mother" to live with and have a very soft motor.
The saying "THE GENUINE ARTICLE" was made for Kawasaki as the king of the retro's.......especially the king of the dinosaurs........the Z1300 !!!

: aye up james, you bad lad,i hope your not
: thinking on selling the big Z to go and buy
: a moped CBX,with those lovely chocolate cams
: lol,the z1300 trounsed the cbx in a recent
: shoot out in i believe wheels magazine,if
: you take a look on retrocitymotorcycles web
: site i think they might have that article,in
: my own opinion the cbx looks like an old
: bike,sounds daft i know,it is old,but the
: z1300 is also old but they still make models
: to look like it,started with the gpz1000r
: then onto the zrx1100 then moved onto the
: zrx1200r all look virtually the same as the
: z1300,what more can i say.kawasakis have
: always been the king of the retros, everyone
: else have played catch up,and they still
: havent caught em up.

: There's not much activity on the message
: board
: at present, so I decided - dare I say it -
: to look at the International CBX Owner
: Association website. It is very good; in
: fact it is easy to spend 1 or 2 hours there.
: Of particular interest were the early
: American road tests of the CBX, which had a
: lot of information on the development of the
: bike. Best of all, there are comments and
: letters from the genius behind the design of
: the engine - Shoichiro Irimajiri, what a
: guy! It led me to wondering who was
: responsible for the Kawasaki 1300 engine. It
: would be good to learn some more about the
: 1300's birth; the testing procedures and
: prototypes etc.. I imagine that the Japanese
: factories must be so interesting in the
: R&D sections. Just picture all those
: little yellow men talking excitedly, as they
: argue over what might have caused an engine
: failure after running it at 1000rpm over
: redline for ten hours!
