I have now decided to sell my Z1300A3 (1981)
This is mainly due to some problems it has and the fact I simply dont have time to spend working on it anymore.
The bike developed a problem a month ago when I noticed a little water getting into the oil. I have since bought another cylinder head and replaced it, but the problem is still there. The bike, starts, runs, tick over and sounds 100% but still has the problem so needs sorting. To someone who has the ability to remove the head and find the problem, the bike wil be an absolute bargain and not a lot of work and very limited cost.
I can guarantee everything below the cylinder head is in perfectly good working order without any problems.
Below is a list of what the work I have done to the bike, at a cost of approximately £2500 ontop of what I paid for it in good condition, making the total over £5000.
Plastic coated frame & swinging arm.
New front tyre.
Fully refurbished and coated front brake calipers & new pads.

Complete engine silver re-spray....looks superb.

Brand New Avon Roadrider R tyre.
Deep Gloss Black & Silver GPZ Paint job (3 months ago).

Complete carb strip & rebuild.

6.2 Litre Deep Sump.
New cam chain, guides and tensioners.
New nylon water pump gear.
All valves re-ground.
K&N Air filter.
New oil filter.
6 brand new NGK BPR6ES plugs.
Too many cosmetic stainless steel parts to mention, but they all look good. Every Nut bolt and washer has been replaced with stainless steel parts, mainly allen heads.
Spare CDI Unit & Ignition Pick Ups included in price.
11 months MOT, tax expires 31st Aug.
Reg Doc in my name.
Reciepts for most of above available and comprehensive original service history on the bike dating back to the 80's.
Please remember this bike is a runner but needs work.

I could sell it in bits for more than that (if I had the time to strip it).

JUST WORK IT OUT, IF YOU BUY A Z1300 IN RESTORABLE CONDITION, IT WILL COST YOU AVERAGE £2200. TO GET TO THE CONDITION MY BIKE IS IN WILL COST YOU A FURTHER £2500 MINIMUM, PLUS THE WORK AND HEART-ACHE.
I ESTIMATE THIS BIKE CAN BE CORRECTED FOR LESS THAN £200 AND A DAYS WORK BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
I am in Japan from 31/8/09 until 5/9/09. If the bike does not sell before then, it will go on EBAY. I already have an offer close to asking price.
