Standard Exhaust Pipes

Does anyone know whether the Standard pipes are chromed then stamped or stamped and then chromed ?
Reason for asking is I have a set of standard pipes that need to be re-chromed and was then thinking of going to an engraver too see if they could copy the original stamp.
Can anyone please recommend a good chromer ?
I may try to get some prices and see if we could get a job lot done if there is enough interest.
