: What an excellant board for info.....took my
: KZ1300 for her first real run out ( besides
: the
: motorway home from Leeds to Wirral ) and she
: ran OK'ish...when I got back, I felt no.5
: exhaust and it was cooler than the others,
: hot but still cooler !! I also noticed
: a far bit of smoke when I started her up.
:
: Anyways......took the spark plug out to see
: if sooted up etc etc and noticed it was a
: Champion RN9YC ( I think I used them in my
: old minis in the 70's !! )
:
: So, off to the bike shop tomorrow for some
: NGK BPR6ES ( mileage 35,000 miles ) as I
: assume the Champion RN9YC is totally far to
: cool than the NGK BPR6ES for a KZ1300.
:
: Bike doesn't seem to be using much oil so
: assuming it is the cooler plugs not burning
: the excess oil away?
:
: Is a Champion RN9YC the same3 grade as a NGK
: BPR6ES?
Answering my own question here !!
Just looked them up....the plugs currently in my KZ1300 are RN9YC and these equal NGK BP7ES.
I intend to fit BPR6ES and these equate to RN11YC.
Just for your info guys :-)
P.S. I assume I'm buying the correct ones now !!!!
