I understand the dilemma you have, but you should really never re-use piston circlips once removed.
Imagine standing at the side of the road next to your Z1300 investment, when a used circlip has broken free and rammed itself down the side of a piston, causing one cylinder to sieze and recked a cylinder wall........you will then think £15 is nothing compared to the repair bill you would then have to face.
There is NEVER a cost effective short cut to rebuilding an engine.
