hello mate ,i had the same problem for ten years!!!!if it's the same as mine,i might be able to help you out but you'll have to phone me cos the explaination is a bit involved. home number is 01752 301083 mob 07795817540 ask for keith i'm 95% sure that i can help.over the ten years i had 6 new batteries,8 starter motors countless calls to kawasaki mechanics,countless tears and once took a sledgehammer to it,but my son got in the way,in the end it cost me ten pounds to fix the problem,this must be a common fault on z1300's
