hi there .
i have a simlar thing going on with my a1 .i thought it may have been through not having a fuel solonoid on mine and was going to get hold of one but i put a thread on here the other day just to check it out and there seems to be no need for it there .i always knew they had an underlying heat problem with the fuel in the carbs when you stop .
i must admit that back in 1979 when i had a new one for 2 yrs cant recall this sort of thing ever going on ,it worked without any troubles.
but now i know i will be willing to try the 4 turns out deal just to see if it helps.i have owned the bike for 3 yrs now and with diffrent things cropping up on it here and there i have not been very far on it since the ride home when i bought it .it is a far smoother ride than my z1 so finger crossed it may get some more road time .
if we could keep in touch on the carb deal that would be good with the fuel.
cheers

: Its weak spark or your primary carb fuel
: settings are too weak.
:
: Start by making sure ALL 6 MIXTURE SCREWS
: are a minimum of 4 turns OUT from the
: resting position (fully in).
: Try that first because it is easy, then let
: us know and we can go from there.
: The K Manual is wrong when it states 1.75
: turns out........I have yet to find any
: Z1300 that will run correctly at that
: setting.
:
: A common reason for it being harder to start
: when HOT is the engine heat evaporates the
: fuel in the carbs much more than whem its
: cold.

: my 1300 kwacker developed this problem of
: not
: starting after the engine has warmed up.
: cold start she starts on the first turn. the
: engine just cranks over without a backfire
: or any sign of ignition. sometimes she
: starts the moment you release the starter
: button, it is as if there is not enough
: battery for the ignition and the starter at
: the same time. i replaced the battery, but
: the problem persists. Compression test on
: all 6 cylinders are above accepted level.
: Fuel cutoff valve works. can anybody out
: there please give some advice?
