The number in an NGK plug is the heat rating.
6 is hotter than 8.
The P in an NGK plug stands for PERTRUDING TIP, which means the tip of the electrode pertrudes below the bottom of the thread. The Z1300 head is designed to use the P plug type.
The R in an NGK plug stands for RESISTED (not vital in the UK)
Halfords are $hite and have got it wrong again.
The correct NGK plug for a Z1300 is the BPR6ES or BP6ES as shown in the K Manual and fitted at the factory.
BP8ES is too cold. but will do no damage if the bike will run ok with it.
If your bike has done more than 40k miles, try the slightly hotter BPR5ES which burns a little hotter and burns off any excess oil. I use these plugs myself in all my Z1300's.
