Thanks Pete, I have had the engine for about 2 years, bought as so say reconditioned its very clean, gaskets look new and obviously has been worked on, ( I have never had it running yet) the pistons look ok and cannot see any damage anywhere, just with a test with petrol it poured through all ex valves, so maybe was assembled wrong whoever done it, but I will thoroughly check all parts involved.
Regards Jeff.

: Jeff,
:
: Sounds like your CAMCHAIN TENSIONER has
: failed and allowed the camchain to jump the
: cam sprockets......allowing your valve
: timing to go all to hell, or someone did not
: put the cams back into the head correctly.
:
: You will need to find 6 replacement
: valves....I suggest new.....and grind them
: into the existing seats.
:
: I would then definitly buy a ZZR1100
: Camchain Tensioner before rebuilding and use
: that.
:
: The only other damage you could have done is
: to the CROWN of your pistons. Look at all of
: these with a magnifying glass for holes or
: scars, as these will get white hot when
: running and cause a siezure. The piston
: crowns must be very smooth and undamaged.
: Depending on the speed you were doing when
: the damage occured, you may have damaged a
: small end or bent a conrod. The only way to
: check this is visibly, so it would mean
: cylinder block removal too.
:
: Also check the area where the valves
: contacted the heads surface itself, as if
: thats scarred, you need a replacement head.
:
: Hope that helps ?
